THE CHALLENGE OF APPLYING DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTIONS IN THE CLASSROOM 
Flag Time is a structured strategy for differentiated instruction that builds on varied opportunities for assessment (teacher, peer or self-assessment) to motivate and encourage children to take the next step in all areas of their learning. This is achieved by providing activities that attend to individual needs, taking onto account readiness, learner profile and interest. Although children follow a fixed routine, the content and skill they will work on change on a daily basis as do the type of grouping and support provided. Flag Time offers and promotes valuable learning, while fostering independence, self-confidence and risk-taking.
